Finally posting this wonderful feature from the Spring 2025 issue of the Western Way, the quarterly magazine of the International Western Music Association. Massive thanks to Tom Swearingen for taking the time to dig deep and tell the tale so thoughtfully and thoroughly and also to editor Theresa O'Dell for including so many great pictures from over the years. Ken Jones, who was my first, greatest, and most influential ranch boss ever, Whit Smith, Riders in the Sky, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Frankie McWhorter, Johnny Gimble, my Mom Susan Hammerton, my Dad Marvin Fremerman...they're all here with me still and am so grateful to get it written down, even a little. ❤️
