October 21, 2026--I just posted this on my personal page on the occasion of my BIRTHDAY today. Thank you all for being with me in this life! Much love.....xoxoOctober 21, 2026--For my birthday this year, please join me!
It would mean so much to me if you could help speak with me for my beloved, sacred Mom, Susan Hammerton, who can no longer speak for herself. My birthday wish is that we who continue to love and care about her continue to advocate for justice on her behalf and not forget how her case is (not) being handled AFTER MORE THAN TWO YEARS.
Just copy and paste the note below—which was adapted from a letter I recently became aware of that was sent to the DA by a former prosecutor—and post on the Washtenaw County DA/ Michigan AG candidate's campaign page, on facebook, instagram, or any other socials, or any site you deem relevant. Let him and others know how you feel about his complete disregard for my Mom and our family--while he tours the state of Michigan eating candy, making videos, and glad-handing to be the next Attorney General of the state of Michigan as, and I kid you not, a "tough on crime" candidate.
If you post please include the interview link, too--nothing has changed since this interview from ten months ago.
My Mom and I thank you...much love! And thank you for all the sweet birthday wishes. ♥️
Mr. Savit:
I have read accounts of your Office's handling of the murder of Susan Hammerton and the defendant, Anthony Flanagan. It is curious as to why you and your Office appear so anxious to accept the insanity defense of the defendant. The defendant has an attorney to advocate for the defendant's interests. However, the victim and the victim's family has only the prosecuting attorney to speak for them.
The murder of Ms. Hammerton was a vicious attack that should wrench the gut of any prosecutor and trigger a resolve to prosecute the defendant with full vigor and not accommodate the defendant's defense. As a concerned citizen and supporter of the victim’s family, I cannot fathom any other approach in a heinous murder case such as this.
The Washtenaw County Prosecutor's Office has a duty to see that justice is done, which in a case such as this, is to give full voice to the victim and her family. This is certainly the appropriate case to vigorously prosecute the defendant Flanagan before a jury and make the defendant prove his defense to a jury. The victim deserves that much.
Respectfully submitted,
