January 25th, 2011 at 6:44amI am a recent convert to country. I scoffed, I scorned, I teased. Then I listened. And I learned. And now I’m hooked….not to all the “my dog ran off with my wife and left me with a broken truck” stuff (although it can be fun) but to some of the most mind-blowing technical and musical artists I’ve ever laid ear on. And one of the incredible musicians who showed me the way was was Elana James….

I really love this photo. These moments are irreplaceable. We have so many pictures and videos of my dad with the many musicians and singers that he played with, and so many of them are lifelong friends. Just like those smiles we see on you and your mom, we get to see in those shots we have. Such a clear reminder of all the fun and laughs we had over the many years. There is nothing else like music to bring us all together.
We are honored and excited--as we always are--to be back at The Continental Club tomorrow evening, Wednesday, December 11th, for our last cherished Happy Hour of the year! 6:30 - 9 PM. FREE. Hope you'll join us, Austin....✡ 🎄❤️⭐️

FOR MY BIRTHDAY & REGARDING MY MOM--I’d like to thank every single one of you who has sent such thoughtful and beautiful notes to me here and through all the other portals. Today is the 37th day. Your messages have meant so very much to me and have been powerful emotional and loving support. My birthday is on Monday, and my Mom's is on October 29th, so I just wanted to post this for both of us to thank you for carrying us in your heart and surrounding us with love during this time. ❤️ This picture is from last December.

I saw you with Hot Club of Cowtown in East Lansing several years ago. As I recall, your mom was in the audience that day. I am sorry for your loss.
